Frankly, I didn’t expect anyone to see this now… or ever.
Once upon a time, I dreamed of some kind of fun lil quirky introduction (you know, first post has to be mindblowing and all that).
It’s been over 6 months. Spoilers: This ain’t it.
Back in August 2023, I sat down to write my glorious first post, figured I’m not really funny, and proceeded to run away from doing this ever since. Should have seen that one coming, with all the procrastination awards I never got around to hanging up.
It’s fine though.
Because now I’m wise(r)! I figured almost nobody knows this website/blog even exists, and the few who do likely wouldn’t check it. Even if, by some ridiculous twist of fate, people do start browsing it in the future, by then this lil post will have been buried under mountains of way more entertaining material (it’s not a delusion, I am allowed to dream).
(and I can also just delete this any moment)
So what I say now doesn’t matter 🙂
I could be talking about the jumping crocodile I was running away from heroically battling in a dream, the dozens of abandoned projects joyfully haunting me at night, about what makes tea the superior drink (I accept no criticism), or any of the embarrassing moments from over a decade ago that don’t seem to want to ever leeet me gooooo 🎶
None of that would matter because there is nobody around to read it! Which is great since I don’t know how to blog, how to format a blog, and my one saving grace (or downfall) is my ability to endlessly ramble about everything and nothing all at once, in a logical progression as time-enduring as Hansel and Gretel’s breadcrumbs trail.
It would also be quite weird to expect people to read my blogs when I myself don’t tend to read blogs much. (Does skimming words while hunting for the recipe on a page with no ‘Jump to recipe’ button count?) But it’s nice to ramble about things I like or find funny and rambling helps me remember those things for more than 5 minutes, so here we are.
As for what kind of stuff I expect to throw in here…
- My most recent writing research spree. Top French curses, which dinosaur would be the best pet for a tribal hunter on a half-frozen half-burning planet, blacksmithing principles, conditions for spontaneous combustion, types of clouds, and other related matters. The connection might not be clear just yet, but all of those are a small fragment of what’s necessary knowledge for the (un)necessarily complicated worldbuilding of the manga I am working on. (there is logic to the madness, take the word of this Internet dead rabbit for it)
- Sneak peaks and discussions on my drawing and writing process. Which will probably develop into full blown frustrated rants when art won’t tech and tech won’t art even more than art won’t art and tech won’t tech. By all means, please ignore those. We all need ways to cope and stay sane somehow.
- My manga’s world and characters. I will make the chapters and some extra materials available for free on this very website (hopefully) by the end of 2024. I am betting on early fall, but as I am a one-rabbit army with lots of things to learn and figure out it’s hard to estimate. Worst case, I’d even settle for New Year’s Eve – at least then I’d have something to actually celebrate – but I am trying really hard not to let it bleed into 2025. I’m not getting any younger, as both my back and wrist like to remind me every so often.
- Exposure therapy. In the end, beyond my genuine desire to share and ramble about funky stuff I love, I am partly treating this blog as a great opportunity for gaining some semblance of courage (or rather losing the remaining ducks I have to give) as preparation for publishing my manga’s chapters within the coming months. The anxiety is real.
- Who knows? I don’t. There could be something else, could be nothing more. At this stage, I’m just rolling with whatever my brain so graciously regurgitates and actually agrees to collaborate on. I’ll be none the wiser than you’d be when (if) the time comes.
With that out of the window, when’s the next post gonna be? Hopefully earlier than half a year this time.
(I even want my manga out by then so it better be)
But alas remains to be seen. I, for one, will be patting myself on the back if I get it out within a month. There’s also the YouTube stuff to take care of for now, more on that soon enough.
(I have no clue if anyone ever found this, but if you did and even made it this far, have a cup of tea and a delicious magic cookie for the effort. 🍪)
